crew steady mobbin'....

To start, we’re sorry we haven’t blogged in a few days. We are having way too much fun in the sunshine state :) but here’s our latest update…

We left Carlsbad Wednesday morning after a yummy scone breakfast compliments of Shelly & Walter
and cruised up to Santa Monica.

First we went to go get our oil change, but were told that it wasn’t necessary. However it was okay because we met this guy…
who saw our NJ plates and got all kinds of nostalgic. He definitely sweated us, just saying:)

Expecting to lay on the beach, we realized it was not beach weather (it’s like 65 and cold here, wtf?) so we mobbed it up onto the Pier. Here we were dazzled by the magic of Alejandro the Great who did some pretty sweet tricks that blew our minds. Especially when he made a coin drop into Steph’s hand and seriously she only had ONE coin and then she had TWO out of NO WHERE and she TOTALLY felt it drop in.

He was only one of the many street performers, but he ruled. Unlike the homeless man who made a dirty puppet dance to music and expected money for it. No way Jose!

We then walked Santa Monica Blvd. and had some lunch outside where we could people watch the crap out of California. We were entertained by the, yet another, homeless man who played the guitar. Apparently before he got homeless he made sure to purchase an amp so he could play big crowds in the streets…???

After lunch we went celebrity hunting in the 90210.

Here, we bought absolutely nothing. We did however have a celebrity sighting…John Voight (Angelina Jolie’s dad).

That was cool we guess.

Our day would not have been complete if we didn’t hit up the DASH store in Calabasas. Here we had the pleasure of seeing the Kardashians in person (via their cardboard cut outs, haha) and again, we bought nothing.

Finally, we headed to our last destination, the Culver Castle!!! The queen of the castle, Miss Cindy Matas, greeted us with open arms, gossip magazines and white sangria.

We got all prettied up and hit up Hollyweird. Here, we went to the Abby and sipped on a few martunis.

and got serenaded by  Miss Amanda (pronounced A-Man-DUH!!!!) Get it?? :)

The night was capped off by some Carl’s J. and uhmmm if you haven’t had Carl’s J, you haven’t lived.

The next day, we finally slept in, which felt amazing! We crew steady mobbed it up to Venice Beach to explore. First stop was lunch at The Wharf with some bloody mary’s…hair of the dog:)

Heading out of the Wharf we saw Barry Watson aka Matt Camden from 7th Heaven!

We were psyched, even though Renee was the only one who really knew it was him.

The streets of Venice are filled with street performers, struggling artists, homeless people
and many different characters…

Oh and we cant forget the advertisements for medical marijuana everywhere….

After soaking up all the strange wonders that is Venice Beach, we put on our tourist caps and headed to Groman’s Chinese Theatre to see the Walk of Fame.

Here, we were lucky enough to witness Renee get her very own star! AKA Renee spilled her whole cup of coffee, that she just bought, on the streets of Hollywood.

We sure know how to leave our mark!

Again, the night was topped off with greasy fatty goodness. Tonight’s stop was In-N-Out Burger. google it:) It’s delicious, that’s all you need to know.

(this is protein style...lettuce, no bun:))

We would like to dedicate this blog to the queen of the Culver Castle, Cindy. And a special shout out to Ian who had the air mattress all blown up for us after our night out in Hollyweird. We had sooo much fun and can’t wait to visit again soon!

Happy Trails!
